So… what exactly is inside Gladskin?

Have you ever actually looked at the ingredient list on one of our bottles? The list is relatively short.

That's because each ingredient has been carefully evaluated and only those which play a purposeful part have been included - without fragrances, alcohols, steroids, preservatives, parabens, or sulfates.

So what’s actually inside? Let's take a closer look at some of our most common ingredients:

Aqua

BENEFITS: Solvent, Hypoallergenic

Water (Aqua) is the most widely used cosmetic ingredient. It is mostly used as a solvent to dissolve other ingredients, or with oils to create emulsions.

Found in: Eczema Cream, Eczema Gel, Rosacea Cream, Rosacea Gel, Acne Gel, Shampoo Bar, Body Wash, Face & Body Bar, Daily Care Cream

Glycerin

BENEFITS: Humectant

Humectants keep things moist. Our plant-derived glycerin draws moisture from the air to hydrate the surface of the skin.

Arginine HCL

BENEFITS: Emollient

Think of this one as a conditioner for your skin. It has hydrating properties when applied topically and promotes skin healing. Exactly what brittle, cracked skin needs.

Calcium Chloride

BENEFITS: Increases viscosity, Stabilizer

Calcium Chloride is a mineral salt that also occurs in nature. It increases the viscosity of our creams and gels, making them easier to apply.

Found in: Eczema Cream, Eczema Gel, Acne Gel, Rosacea Cream, Rosacea Gel

Sodium Chloride

BENEFITS: Stabilizer

Sodium chloride is just a fancy name for salt. To get a tough job done, we sometimes need a helpful push. Sodium chloride is a mineral salt that does just that for Staphefekt™, maximizing its potency so that a little goes a long way—and quickly, too. (Gladskin goes to work in just 5 minutes!)

Vaselinum album

BENEFITS: Preventing water loss, Soothing

When your skin barrier is compromised, it’s difficult to retain moisture -- which leads to dry skin. Vaselinum album helps by forming a lipid barrier that reduces the loss of water from surface layers, and contributes to keeping skin soft and smooth.

Cera cetomacrogolis emulsificans

BENEFITS: Moisturizer, Emollient

Not all alcohols are the same! Instead of drying, some moisturize. Cera cetomacrogolis emulsificans is actually considered a "fatty alcohol"—a natural emollient that improves the feel of Gladskin and has a softening effect on your skin.

Paraffinum liquidum

BENEFITS: Emollient, Skin Protecting

Flare after flare, skin tissue becomes more sensitive. Petrolatum strengthens the skin barrier by acting as a moisture lock, helping it hold on to deep moisture. In case you are worried, because some sources say that paraffinum liquidum might be carcinogenic: it is the impurities in paraffinum liquidum that could cause cancer. The paraffinum liquidum that we use in our products is of a high pharma-grade quality and corresponds to the European standards and is considered non-carcinogenic.

Staphefekt™

BENEFITS: Targets bad bacteria, Helps to rebalance the microbiome

Think of this as the superhero! Staphefekt™ is the world's first enzyme that selectively targets only S. aureus, the ‘bad’ bacteria, that can aggravate skin conditions such as eczema, rosacea, and acne. What makes it even more special: It leaves the good bacteria, necessary for healthy skin, intact.*

BENEFITS: Increases viscosity, Stabilizer
